Legal Advisor to the Hearing Officer, DG Competition

Aniek Schadd is a legal advisor to the Hearing Officers (part of the Competition Commissioner’s cabinet) at the European Commission, in Brussels. The main role of the Hearing Officer is to safeguard the effective exercise of procedural rights throughout competition proceedings at the European Commission. Aniek is a lawyer and prior to becoming legal advisor she specialised in competition law in private practice, most recently as Of Counsel at Morrison & Foerster LLP in Brussels, and prior to that as (Senior) Associate at the Dutch law firm AKD, also in the Brussels office. Aniek received a Master of European Law degree (LLM) with a specialisation in European Law and Economic Analysis from the Law Department of the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium), as well as LLM degrees in European Law and Public International law from Leiden University (the Netherlands).
