About the IAPP

Bryan TAN is a partner at Reed Smith, based in Singapore. Qualified in both England and Wales and Singapore, he practises in such areas as data protection, finance, technology, media and telecommunications and advises corporates as well as governments and is ranked top tier in several categories by Legal500, Chambers, Doyle’s, Best Lawyers and WW for TMT, IT, venture capital, fintech and data protection work. He is a legal adviser to the ASEAN Single Window project and the United Nations Network of Experts for Paperless Trade and Transport in Asia and the Pacific. He is vice-chairman of the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore and was also the co-chair of the TMT sub-committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. He is the editor/author of Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore: E-Commerce/Information Technology; Halsbury’s Laws of Malaysia: E-Commerce; Data Protection Law in Singapore and E-Discovery in Asia and has contributed extensively to the Singapore Data Protection Digest.
