About the IAPP

Jennifer Sheryer is a solicitor for the City of Hamilton. Onboarding in 2020 shortly before Covid-19 hit, Jennifer quickly became immersed in public health law providing advice to the City’s Healthy and Safe Communities department including public health and the paramedic service, and to the Information Technology division. Her portfolio includes privacy matters under both PHIPA and MFIPPA. She also frequently advises on contracts including in the areas of software and IT, and especially those where PI or PHI is at stake.  

Prior to her current role, Jennifer articled at the City of London and then worked for 18 years at the City of Kitchener where her work included conducting prosecutions at POA Court and appearing at various tribunals, procurement matters, heritage law, drafting by-laws, and negotiation of software and other contracts.  

Jennifer loves her work and especially enjoys the daily challenge and variety of municipal law.
