The intent of the guide from the U.S. Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology is to help healthcare providers―especially HIPAA covered entities and Medicare Eligible Professionals from smaller organizations ―better understand how to integrate federal health information privacy and security requirements into their practices.
