General Services Administration: Data Ethics Framework (2020)

The U.S. General Services Administration published its draft Data Ethics Framework to guide the government on making ethical decisions when managing or using data. Privacy is among the seven core considerations outlined by GSA, which said data privacy should be "protected in a manner that respects human dignity, rights, and freedom, while also being in accordance with the applicable legal authorities." GSA also called out specific principles to consider in the context of privacy, including transparency, data minimization, use limitation and accountability.
