The Swedish data protection authority, Datainspektionen, fined Google approximately 7 million euros for alleged violations of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The DPA issued the fine after it found Google did not properly remove a pair of search results listings it ordered the tech company to remove in 2017. This comes after the agency conducted a follow-up audit to its initial order in 2018. Google has three weeks to appeal the DPA’s decision. (Original article is in Swedish.)
