The Singapore Personal Data Protection Commission will investigate the data breach suffered by health care group SingHealth affecting 1.5 million patients, The Straits Times reports. A spokesman for the Ministry of Communications and Information said SingHealth is a corporate entity, placing it under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act. Any organization found to have violated the rule could face fines up to $1 million. "The PDPC will take into account the Committee of Inquiry's report in its determination and assessment of any appropriate action to be taken," the MCI spokesman said.
