GigaOm has early access to a Forrester survey that finds 62 percent of consumers say they would be “not at all likely” to do business again with a company known to have shared their PII with a data broker. Further, 37 percent report that they’ve abandoned a transaction online due to something they didn’t like in the terms of service, including the privacy policy. Finally, the study commissioned by analytics firm Neustar finds more than a quarter of respondents now using ad-blocking software. This leads Forrester to conclude that privacy is “the new green movement,” but the GigaOm author is skeptical.
