The HIV status of 14,200 people in Singapore was disclosed after an American published stolen medical records online, The Wall Street Journal reports. The data breach included names, contact details, HIV statuses and other test results. Ministry of Health officials said Mikhy K. Farrera Brochez previously worked in Singapore, adding he had served a 28-month prison sentence for “drug-related offenses and fraud, including lying about his medical status.” Those impacted by the breach are being contacted. “While access to the confidential information has been disabled, it is still in the possession of the unauthorized person,” the officials noted.
