In an opinion piece for Nextgov, Neville Pattinson, senior vice president of government sales at Gemalto North America, discusses the need for partnerships between the public and private sectors to protect mobile device users’ identities. The National Strategy for Trusted Identities is a good example of such a partnership, Pattinson says. While mobile identity—the creation of a mechanism for a high level of security on mobile devices—is on the rise, it’s up to public authorities to be an early adopter of such technology; build a national momentum for it and coordinate local government investments in it, Pattinson says.
