As expected, and just days after adopting its broadband privacy rules proposal, the Federal Communications Commission has released the 147-page text. “In this Notice of Proposed Rulemaking …, we propose to apply the traditional privacy requirements of the Communications Act to the most significant communications technology of today: broadband Internet access service,” the FCC report states. The agency now seeks comment on the proposed rules. The comment period is open until May 27. Last week, the FCC commissioners voted 3-2 to approve the NPRM.
