Members of the European Economic Area Council issued a joint statement on a number of topics, including data transfers and artificial intelligence. The council noted the importance of the European Commission's "White Paper on Artificial Intelligence and European data strategy," as well as their commitment to upholding data transfers across the EEA "underlining the importance of effective implementation and harmonized enforcement of legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation."
