  • The Office of the European Data Protection Supervisor urged a ban on NSO Group's "Pegasus" spyware across EU member states, Politico reports. The EDPS released a statement saying a halt on the surveillance technology would be the "most effective option to protect our fundamental rights and freedoms." To support its position, the EDPS published a white paper aimed at aiding "assessment in the EU and globally of the unprecedented risks posed" by Pegasus and similar spyware.
  • According to Hungary Today, the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information released a report fully clearing prior use of Pegasus software by Hungary's government. The findings were published as European Parliament mulls its own investigation into the use of spyware by Hungary and other European nations.
