Public Health England indicated the U.K. COVID-19 contact tracing system went live before the data protection impact assessment was completed, Politico reports. A PHE spokeswoman said the DPIA was being prepared, but laws prohibit the collection of personal data prior to the assessment's completion. Meanwhile, in Poland, privacy concerns regarding the country's contact tracing plans are on the rise. And in the U.S., app developers are assuring privacy protections with Alabama's contact tracing app.
