The Adjudication Unit in the OIPC has a permanent opportunity for individuals with legal expertise. Reporting to the Director of Adjudication (Director), you will be responsible for the following functions:
- Independently hold adjudicative hearings called “inquiries” under the Acts, as a direct delegate from the Commissioner of her quasi-adjudicative function. In the course of those hearings, adjudicators develop and apply the law relating to access to information and protection of personal information under the Acts.
- Develop and apply fair procedures in conducting inquiries under the Acts.
- Work with the Registrar of Inquiries and Adjudication Support staff on facilitating the related administrative processes.
- Engage in various work projects at the request of the Director or the Commissioner.
