Christos Makedonas, CIPP/E
Christos is leading the Technology Risk Services (TRS) at Grant Thornton (Cyprus) Ltd and he is the Managing Director of our subsidiary company Grant Thornton (Cyprus) Cybersecurity Ltd.
Christos Makedonas has many years of professional experience in Cyber Security. His main areas of expertise are Discovery & Digital Forensics, Incident Response, and Ethical Hacking Services. He has been involved in investigations both locally and internationally in cases that involved bribery and corruption, dispute resolution, employee misconduct, data leakage, along with cases that required an incident response and cyber forensics due to malware and other cyber-attacks.
He has also been involved in multiple projects related to Ethical Hacking such as Penetration Testing, Vulnerability and Phishing Assessments along with other types of Social Engineering.
In his career, Christos was also involved and lead projects including Data Protection and Privacy Compliance (GDPR), Control Assurance, Internal and External IT Audit, Internal Control Design and Evaluation, Compliance, AML, Security and Privacy reviews, Business Continuity, Management & Disaster Recovery, Business & Operational and Information Risk Management and Strategy, CAATs, Project Management, and IT Governance and Compliance.
Christos has a Banking Operations Diploma, a BSc in Computing Informatics from the University of Plymouth and an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems (Focus in Information Security) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
