Christos Makedonas leads digital risk services at Grant Thornton and is co-founder of Enactia, a global solution for data protection and cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance. With 20 years of professional experience in cyber security and data protection, Makedonas has established himself as a leading authority in the field.

He has served as the president of the ISACA Cyprus Chapter and as a co-chair of the IAPP Cyprus KnowledgeNet Chapter. Makedonas holds an array of esteemed professional qualifications, including CISA, CDPSE, CIPP/E, CEH, ECSA, CCFP, CMI, CFIP, and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer. His educational background comprises an MSc in analysis, design, and management of information systems from the London School of Economics and a BSc in computing informatics from the University of Plymouth, U.K.

Makedonas' primary areas of expertise encompass privacy and data protection, discovery and digital forensics, incident response, and penetration testing. He has spearheaded international data protection and privacy projects and has been actively involved in both local and international investigations. These investigations have covered a spectrum of cases, including bribery and corruption, dispute resolution, employee misconduct, data leakage, and incidents necessitating rapid incident response and cyber forensics due to malware and other cyber-attacks. Throughout his career, Makedonas has led and contributed to a diverse range of projects. These include data protection, control assurance, internal and external IT audit, internal control design and evaluation, compliance, AML, security and privacy reviews, business continuity, management and disaster recovery, business and operational information risk management and strategy, CAATs, project management, and IT governance and compliance.

Makedonas' extensive expertise and practical know-how emphasize his crucial contribution to shaping impactful tactics and resolutions within the dynamic fields of cybersecurity and data protection. This comprehensive understanding has played a significant role in establishing the fundamental principles of Enactia.
