Dylan Cors serves as International Director in the Office of Law and Policy in the National Security Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. The Office of Law and Policy advises on issues arising from the National Security Division’s prosecuting, intelligence and other sections, and also works with other U.S. departments and agencies and with foreign partners to develop and implement Department of Justice and U.S. government policies with regard to intelligence, counterterrorism, and other national security matters. Mr. Cors’ international work relating to cross-border data flows and privacy issues includes engaging with foreign counterparts to explain the privacy safeguards in U.S. law relating to potential U.S. government access to personal data transferred to the United States, including how those safeguards compare with foreign legal standards and practices, as well as negotiating executive agreements between the United States and other countries for enhanced cross-border access to electronic data to counter serious crime authorized by the U.S. CLOUD Act. He joined the Department in 2010.
