Hiroyuki Tanaka is a partner at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto. He practices data protection law in addition to IP and IT law. He has extensive experience advising foreign clients on Japanese data protection law and global data compliance. He is admitted both in Japan and New York, and is familiar with global data protection regulations, including the EU GDPR and U.S. regulations, including the CCPA. He also has a long list of publication credits relating to his areas of expertise. He was selected as one of National Leaders in Data section in Who’s Who Legal: Japan 2020. He was also selected as one of the top 5 Best Performing Lawyers 2019 (as selected by companies) in the data-related area in the 15th "Corporate Legal Affairs and Lawyer Survey" published by Nikkei.
