About the IAPP

Daria Ilkina is a Privacy Manager at Orion Health, a privacy member for the Toronto SickKids Hospital Research Ethics Board and a Technical Committee Member of the CIO Strategy Council. 

Daria started her privacy career in research and consulting, working with Canadian federal government and businesses on investigating, implementing and operationalizing privacy best practices and cybersecurity strategies, and on helping companies mature their privacy programs through her work at the Privacy and Cyber Crime Institute and as an independent consultant. She has extensive experience working in privacy in the healthcare industry, from working as a privacy officer at the hospitals and healthcare facilities to working with healthcare technology vendors and service providers, as well as with provincial ehealth agencies, ministries and government organizations. Prior to joining Orion Health, Daria was a senior member of the Privacy Office at Canada Health Infoway, working on addressing privacy of personal health information throughout the digital health industry and within Infoway. She has also collaborated with the scientists at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) on a series of papers about consent management in digital health. 

Daria holds a BBA in International Business from Haaga-Helia University, Helsinki, Finland, and a MSc in Management of Technology and Innovation from Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada.ac
