Frith Tweedie leads the Digital Law practice at EY Law in New Zealand. She has over 16 years’ experience advising clients in NZ, Australia and the UK on a range of privacy, data protection, e-commerce, technology, IP and consumer protection law issues.
Before joining EY Law, Frith led the establishment of the GDPR compliance programme for Vodafone NZ. She has worked closely with digital teams at BBC Worldwide and Westpac on numerous data-driven initiatives requiring extensive privacy advice, including on cloud usage, data analytics, monetisation of data, digital marketing and data sharing initiatives. She regularly advises NZ and Australian clients on a range of privacy issues, including drafting relevant documentation.
Frith has a particular interest in data privacy and trust issues in a digital context and speaks regularly on GDPR, general privacy and AI issues. She is on the IAPP Australia New Zealand Advisory Board and is a member of the Law, Ethics & Society working group of the AI Forum. She writes for a range of publications, including CIO.co.nz, Privacy Unbound, Data Guidance’s “Data Protection Leader”, LegalWise, the EY Asia-Pacific Digital Law Newsletter and the EY Oceania Privacy & Security Update. She is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
