About the IAPP

Sinziana Gutiu is the TELUS Data & Trust Office Director of International Privacy and Compliance. Her work involves leading the international privacy compliance program, managing the work of the Compliance Governance Committee, which focuses on best practices in compliance at the enterprise level, and operationalizing TELUS’ Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Business Sales Code of Conduct, and Competition Law programs.

Before joining TELUS, Sinziana co-led the cyber security and privacy law group at a national law firm and served as the firm’s Privacy Officer. She also worked at the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC, where she gained valuable insight into the regulatory side of access to information and privacy law. She is a published author in the field of robotics, privacy and cyber security, a past IAPP Canadian Advisory Board member, and an Executive Officer on the national Canadian Bar Association Privacy and Access Law Section.
