About the IAPP

Kathryn Reid is in-house counsel at Unum Group, a provider of employee benefit plans, services, and related technology. Kathryn provides legal advice regarding privacy and information security issues, risks, strategies, policies, and programs in the US and EU. She also provides legal support for data governance, compliance, and regulatory matters. Kathryn is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (Europe and US) and holds a Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection. 

Kathryn also serves as a volunteer attorney, providing advice regarding family law and other civil matters through the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project. She previously served as a volunteer board member and Clerk for the nonprofit organization Friends of Casco Bay.

Kathryn is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and Bowdoin College.
