About the IAPP

Philip Gordon chairs the Privacy and Background Checks Practice Group of Littler Mendelson, the nation's largest law firm representing only management in employment law matters. He counsels employers on the full range of privacy and data protection issues, including the implementation and management of global HR systems; background checks; monitoring employees' electronic communications; regulating social media and other technologies in the workplace; compliance with HIPAA; and security incident response. Mr. Gordon also teaches privacy law as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado School of Law and sits on the Advisory Board of Georgetown University Law Center’s Cybersecurity Law Institute. He also has served on the IAPP's Editorial and Educational Advisory Boards and on the Advisory Board of BNA's Privacy and Security Law Report.
