Jared Bomberg is an associate in Hogan Lovells' Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on privacy and data security counseling related to the introduction of new products and services.
Jared has assisted clients with emerging privacy and cybersecurity issues related to geo-location tracking, unmanned aircraft systems, connected-car technologies, student data privacy, workplace monitoring and Big Data tools. He also regularly advises clients on transactional matters involving personal data, record retention projects, website and mobile application privacy disclosures, as well as responses to data breach incidents and cybersecurity governance initiatives.
Prior to joining the firm, Jared worked in the United States Senate for seven years, most recently as Counsel to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In this capacity he provided advice to Senators and staff on privacy and data security legislation and e-commerce and consumer product matters. Jared drafted and negotiated numerous bills, led the development of dozens of Congressional hearings and advised on Committee investigations.
