Director of Privacy & Data Project

Eric Null is the Co-Director of the Privacy & Data Project at Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT). He oversees a broad portfolio of privacy work, including comprehensive privacy legislation and health- and finance-related privacy. He works closely with Congress, agencies, and states to help ensure they protect privacy to the highest degree. He also advocates to companies in an effort to improve their data policies and works in coalition with civil society on a variety of privacy-related issues. 

Prior to joining CDT in January 2022, he was the U.S. Policy Manager at Access Now, an international human rights organization, where he oversaw tech and digital rights policy in the U.S., particularly around data protection, connectivity, and content moderation.
