Sue Lajoie joined the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as Director General – Privacy Act Investigations in January 2012.  She oversees investigations that follow complaints from individuals who claim a breach of the Privacy Act (PA), complaints that are initiated by the Commissioner regarding the personal information-handling practices of federal government departments and agencies, and the review of privacy breach notifications submitted by federal institutions. 



Sue has over 20 years of experience in public sector management.  From 2006 to 2011, she served in senior management positions in the Information and Privacy Policy Division at the Treasury Board Secretariat.  In her capacity as Senior and Executive Director at TBS, she directed the development and promulgation of access to information and privacy policy instruments.  



Sue has an MBA from Queen’s University.
