Director, Privacy Governance and DPO

Robin is a strategic, business focused Privacy & Data Protection Leader. Currently, as Director, Global Privacy @ Twilio, she leads her team to strategically support Twilio’s internal and external privacy commitments to customers & employees with a scalable, technology driven focus. 

Prior to Twilio, Robin has experience from privacy positions at Yahoo, Google, and Truste (now Trustarc), as well as an IAPP faculty member. She collaborates closely with product & engineering, HR, marketing/sales and finance to advise on privacy guidance. In addition, Robin has built and managed her team to drive a comprehensive Privacy Governance functions at a fast growing technology company including: privacy M&A, privacy integrations, 3rd party due diligence, training creation + compliance, external and internal privacy audits, privacy GRC program, PIA and DPIA, data mapping, data governance (classification, identification & retention), privacy engineering, privacy program management, implementing new regulations and frameworks, DSAR’s, awareness & training. 

She has experience in the areas of GDPR, CCPA, BCR’s, U.S., COPPA, mobile, smart grid/energy, advertising, communications/cloud, HIPAA, GLBA, European and UK privacy.  

Robin is also a frequent speaker on privacy program and technology topics, a privacy tech advisor and sits on the Advisory Board of emerging tech startups. 

Robin developed a strong background in project and process management, financial audit and compliance (Sarbanes Oxley internal/process audits), and consulting from Deloitte. Her background includes client work with Fortune 500 and industry leaders in the energy, technology, and healthcare industries. Robin graduated from Siena College with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and has her CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM and FIP certifications.
