About the IAPP

Denis Kelleher BCL, LLD, Barrister-at-Law, is a Senior Legal Counsel at a leading Irish Bank, which he advises on privacy and data protection issues.  He is the author of Privacy and Data Protection Law in Ireland (Bloomsbury Professional), the 2nd Edition of which is due to be published in the New Year.  He is also co-author of Information Technology Law in Ireland and many journal articles and papers. He was previously Legal Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the EU, Brussels, Belgium, where he represented Ireland at negotiations on the text of the Lisbon Treaty, an Advisory Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General, Dublin, Ireland and a Barrister in private practice.  He writes for the IAPP in a personal capacity; the views he expresses are his own and do not represent the views of any other person.
