Kristie is passionate about helping companies harness the power of data and technology by creating products focused on driving brand loyalty, customer experience, and innovation grounded in data ethics. She is an executive with proven experience in governance and risk management strategies that meet business goals and regulatory requirements. Kristie’s specialties include financial services and digital commerce and applying technology and data driven approaches to scaling data management. She also leads and fosters a culture of responsible data use through data governance.

Kristie joined Google in 2021, and serves as Google’s Data Protection Officer. She leads the implementation of privacy efforts across product and engineering teams at Google. In addition, Kristie is also serving as board director of Google Korea, Fitbit Korea, Google Cloud Korea, and Google Payment Korea. Before Google, Kristie was the Chief Privacy Officer at PayPal where she led a global team that developed and operationationalized PayPal’s data governance and privacy products. Kristie was a member of the Supervisory Board at PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A, bank in Luxembourg, and at Tradera AB, e-commerce marketplace in Sweden. Kristie served as the co-chair of the Technology, Information Security, Privacy Risk Management Committee.

Prior to PayPal, Kristie was the Chief Privacy Officer at HCL Technologies, leading a global organization of experienced privacy professionals to develop and implement privacy products from the ground-up. Kristie also held various leadership roles at American Express.

Kristie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University and her Juris Doctorate degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University. Kristie lives in Redwood City, CA with her husband and two daughters where she enjoys hiking, golf, and weekend renovation projects.
