About the IAPP

Irish is the Chief Privacy Officer of the Globe Group and the Head of Globe’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance Division. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Manager and served as KnowledgeNet Philippines Chapter Chair from 2021-2022.

Irish received her Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law. As a lawyer, she began her professional career in Philippine law firms where she specialized in civil, commercial, and criminal litigation before shifting to public policy. She was part of the USAID Trade-Related Assistance for Development (TRADE) Project where, as a competition law and policy research associate, she worked with industry pioneers toward the passage of the Philippine Competition Act. She then joined Uber and Grab where she advocated for ride-hailing legislation.

As a mother of three young children, children’s privacy and online safety are among Irish’s personal advocacies. She participates in Globe’s programs to promote digital literacy and to prevent online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, cyberbullying, and other unlawful schemes that are rampant in the digital space today.
