As Counsel at Miller Thomson, David has a business law practice with particular focus on technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity. David provides strategic advice in a wide variety of commercial transactions, M&A, and IT agreements as well as assisting clients develop programs to comply with privacy laws and cybersecurity matters. As breach coach, David helps clients in the private and non-profits sectors respond to a full range of cybersecurity and data breach incidents. Prior to joining Miller Thomson, David held roles in Sweden and in Canada at a large US multi-national medical device and life sciences business, which included responsibility for global compliance and data privacy programs as well as acquired business integrations in Europe and the US.

David is the editor and key contributor of Miller Thomson’s cybersecurity blog, as well as an active author and presenter in the privacy and technology community across Canada. He holds CIPP/C certification, an LLM (Law & IT) from Stockholm University and a JD and Bcomm from the University of Saskatchewan. David is a father of three girls and lives in Saskatoon with his family and their dog, Eddie.
