About the IAPP

Debashis Das is a Principal in the Office of the CISO at AWS. In his role, Debashis expands the scope and impact of the AWS CISO externally through customer executive engagements and cybersecurity public policy outreach. Internally, he provides guidance to AWS service teams on security architecture decisions, upholding AWS security standards and addressing the needs of highly security-sensitive customers. As a leader in the AWS Security organization, Debashis promotes AWS's robust security culture through active participation in, and oversight of security operations. Recently, his efforts have focused on the security of generative AI, enhancing the AWS Well-Architected Framework, strengthening software supply chain security, and improving AWS's open source security strategy. Prior to joining AWS, Debashis held executive and technical leadership positions driving architecture, security, and software engineering at Veracode, Microsoft, Nokia and Siemens.
