About the IAPP

Hannah Poteat is Privacy & IP Counsel at GitHub, Inc., where she handles matters as wide-ranging as GDPR readiness and Privacy Shield compliance, open source licensing and the DMCA, incident response and security policy development, and user harassment and moderation.

 

She is certified CIPP/US and serves on the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Intellectual Property section and as a Committee Vice Chair at the ABA Intellectual Property Section. Additionally, she is a Fellow at the Internet Law and Policy Foundry.

Prior to her legal career, Hannah worked in information security for fourteen years.
