Q: What is the itinerary for the training?

A: Select your live online or online training preference to view details including training dates and times. You will also get an email approximately one week prior to training with additional information. Or train anywhere, anytime with our GDPR online training. At this time in-person training is on hold until further notice due to safety and concerns surrounding COVID-19.

Q: When do I take the exam? Is the exam being proctored at the end of the training?

A: You may sit for your exam at one of our 6,000+ computer-based testing centers worldwide or through OnVue’s online proctoring option. Exams must be taken within one year of purchase or all examination fees will be forfeited.

Q: Can the online bundle be used at any time, or is it for a particular date?

A: Our traditional online training is self-paced and can be viewed at any time.

Our Live Online option functions like a virtual classroom allowing you to interact with an instructor and classmates around the world in real time. For this reason, the Live Online option is assigned a specific date and time which will expire.

Q: Can I revisit each of the modules of each course as many times as I like online?

A: If you signed up for traditional online training, you may view it as many times as you like. In fact, we recommend reviewing the content within each module more than once to increase retention.

If you chose Live Online training, it is assigned a specific date and time so you and your virtual classmates can interact with the presenter and each other in real time. This means the session will expire. However, the course presentation remain viewable for six months once the training has concluded.

Q: Do I have to watch the online training all at once? Does it always start from the beginning?

A: With our traditional online training, you can exit and return at any time to pick up where you left off.

The Live Online alternative requires you to participate in the class online at a specific date and time. Once the training has been held, you will be allowed to view materials and the presentation for up to six months. You can view the training from the beginning or pick up wherever you leave off.

Q: Is IAPP Membership part of the bundle package?

A: Yes, the GDPR bundles all include complimentary IAPP Membership for one year.

Q: Is there a time limit for taking the exam after registration/taking the online course?

A: If you are purchasing a bundle which includes your certification exam(s), you have one year from date of purchase to take your exam. There is no limit on how many times you may reschedule your exam. If at the end of one year, you have not completed your exam, all exam fees will be forfeited.

Q: For the option which includes 2 certification exams (CIPP/E and CIPM), do they have any expiration time? How should they be passed: both at once or one after the other?

A: You have one year from date of purchase to take your exam. There is no limit on how many times you may reschedule your exam. If at the end of one year, you have not completed your exam, all exam fees will be forfeited. There are no prerequisites for the exams, you may take them in any order.

Q: Is there mobile app for iPhone and iPad which I can use to access the course materials? Can I download the online training and watch it on my mobile device?

A: Although some of the features of the online courses will work on a tablet, they are not yet fully compatible with all mobile devices. You can view our trainings online, however you cannot download them.

Q: Is there VAT added to the prices listed?

A: No, these products are exempt from VAT tax.

Q: I would like to purchase a GDPR Ready training via Wire Transfer, could you please assist me?

A: Yes, we can! To request an invoice and wire transfer details, please email your request and “Bill To” information to our Membership Team at membership@iapp.org Please note purchases will be charged in USD.

Q: Does this program include both in-person and online training or do we have to choose?

A: The GDPR Ready 4-Day Bundle Plus includes both in-person or live online with online training. Other bundle packages include in-person, live online, or online training, but not in combination.

Q: Is there any difference between live online and online training?

A: The content is the same for all, the only difference is in the delivery.

Live online training is led by a live expert instructor at a specific date and time. The difference is you and your classmates can attend from anywhere in the world you have internet access. You can even ask questions and converse with the instructor and other trainees via a real-time chat function.

Traditional online training is available from anywhere you have internet access. It is self-paced and includes no “live” instruction.

Q: Does the amount cover the exams for the certifications (CIPP/E & CIPM)?

A: Yes, all the GDPR Ready Bundle packages include exams fees for the CIPP/E and CIPM exams with the exception of the GDPR Prep Online Bundle which includes your choice of one exam: CIPP/E or CIPM

Q: Is there a time limit for the exams?

A: You are allotted 2.5 hours at a computer based testing centre per each exam. You can find more information about the exam structure and process in the IAPP Certification Candidate Information Handbook.

Q: What are the DPO Toolkit and Resources?

A: The DPO toolkit contains resources instrumental in performing what will be a vital role at many organizations inside and outside of the European Union when the General Data Protection Regulation comes into force.

The DPO Toolkit and resources are free for IAPP members and are regularly updated with content such as sample job descriptions to research how much training is required of a DPO to obtain baseline GDPR knowledge.

Q: If we pay for the training and cannot attend the in-person class we have chosen could this amount cover a different training?

A: Provided we are informed two weeks prior to the start of in-person training we can provide a full credit good toward any future IAPP purchase. If you notify us between two weeks and 24 hours prior to the training, our membership team will need to review your request.
