A call to action has been sounded around the world for regulators to interpret and apply their mandates to meet the moment of artificial intelligence governance. The spectrum of activity has been as varied as it has been voluminous, with regulators clarifying existing regulatory approaches, censuring certain AI practices, and cohering and coordinating approaches with other domestic and international regulators. Privacy has been an early and dominant domain through which the development and use of AI has been scrutinized and enforced. This panel brought together the perspectives of privacy commissioners and deputy commissioners leading and seized with the importance of the regulatory enforcement of AI.
