About the IAPP

Matteo is a senior AI governance researcher and advisor at AI safety start-up Apollo Research and a dual-qualified lawyer (US / EU). His research currently focuses on pre-deployment information sharing on AI model capabilities, the identification of red lines, AI safety cases, and governance implications of AI scheming. In the past, Matteo conducted research on compute governance and liability at the Institute for Law & AI and worked as an associate with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. He graduated from Stanford University and Universitá di Torino with a Fulbright Scholarship.
