About the IAPP

Bernhard von Sonnleithner is Workday’s Director, Legal - EMEA Privacy. He joined Workday in 2016 as the lead privacy attorney for EMEA.

Bernhard is a seasoned information technology and data protection attorney with more than 10 years of professional experience. He started his career in private practice working in the IP/IT department of two renowned international law firms and then went on to pursue a career as an in-house attorney. Early on in his career, Bernhard specialised in data privacy, advising international clients on a wide range of data protection matters, including cross-border data transfers, use of innovative technologies, implementing privacy programs and general privacy compliance. He is passionate about cloud computing, machine learning and disruptive technologies and has authored or co-authored various publications on IT and data protection laws.
