About the IAPP

Dr. Nicole Monleón de Wallmann is the Head of Data Protection of Panasonic Europe B.V. Panasonic operates in more than 35 countries across Europe and the CIS region and employs more than 11,000 people in sales, marketing, manufacturing, design and lifestyle research as well as R&D centers and support companies.

Nicole is a Senior Legal Counsel within Panasonic Europe’s Legal and Compliance Team with more than 10 years of experience in legal practice. Since July 2018, Nicole oversees and coordinates Data Protection Compliance in the European and CIS region. She provides detailed advice on data protection matters also to Panasonic Corporation in Japan. She works cross functional and has become the linchpin between the various stakeholders in the region and Japan concerning GDPR compliance.

Prior to her current role, Nicole counselled various Panasonic companies in Europe since 2006. She is an accomplished in-house lawyer, has a strong business acumen and in-depth experience. She has particular expertise in Data Protection Law (GDPR), Competition and Antitrust law, and Contract Law. Nicole is a qualified German lawyer admitted to the bar. Before joining Panasonic, she worked at the Max-Plank Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and earned her PhD at the University of Hamburg.

Nicole is fluent in German, Spanish, and English.
