UK Data Act: Key provisions and next steps for implementation

The U.K. Data (Use and Access) Act received Royal Assent 19 June, ushering in a significant number of changes to U.K. data protection law, including to scientific research, legal bases for processing, automated decision-making and direct marketing. Some provisions commence automatically but many require further commencement regulations.
