Lael Bellamy is Of Counsel with DLA Piper and has over 25 years of experience in privacy and technology law, compliance and data governance. Lael has served as the chief privacy officer of large and small multinational companies in the financial services, data, retail, publishing and ad tech industries, providing practical advice on a wide range of privacy and technology matters from overseeing compliance with state and federal regulations to negotiating acquisition, technology and consulting agreements. Lael is a past president of the Association of Corporate Counsel in Georgia and a past national chair of the ACC’s IT, Privacy & eCommerce Committee and holds degrees from Cornell University and Emory University School of Law.Lael is a frequent speaker on privacy and technology issues and has served on both the Board of Directors and the Educational Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional.
