Barbara Li is a lawyer and the Head of Corporate of the Beijing office of Rui Bai Law Firm, a fully licensed PRC law firm and PwC network firm. She heads the Data, TMT and FinTech practice of the firm, specializing in advising international companies and financial institutions on privacy and data protection, cybersecurity and breach response, complex regulatory and compliance matters in relation to deployment of emerging technologies and digital transformation across a number of industries, and also on structuring, drafting and negotiating strategic joint ventures and M&A transactions in the TMT, FinTech, pharma, automotive and infrastructure sectors.
Barbara is dual qualified in the PRC and England and Wales and she brings a wealth of solid experience gained from working at Beijing and London offices of premier international and PRC law firms as well as senior in-house role at MNCs. She is widely recongised as a true legal expert in the China market and is ranked as a leading lawyer in multiple practice areas of TMT, FinTech and M&A by Legal500 and Chambers. In 2020, she won the China Top TMT Lawyer Award by Asian Legal Business.
Barbara works closely with the industry and she is frequently invited to write and speak at reputable international and regional professional and industry conferences and events. She served as the ex-vice chair of the Cybersecurity Sub-Working Group and the Construction Working Group of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China for multiple years.
