Supports Medtronic businesses and functions in the development of Medtronic products, services, and solutions by providing expert privacy advice, performing Privacy Impact Assessments, and working with the business to validate identified privacy issues and support remediation tracking.

Detailed Position Description:
A Day in the Life
The Privacy Specialist:
- Conducts timely and high-quality PIAs, advising and providing privacy deliverables such as customized templates, for new processing activities, material changes to existing activities, and re-assessments of previously conducted assessments, as required by the privacy standards and procedures, and in support of Medtronic businesses, functions, and regions.
- Coordinates with Privacy Legal for model document development, review, approval, maintenance, and exception procedures for these types of privacy documents.
- Collaborates with regional and business Privacy Partners, Legal, and relevant OU, functional or regional stakeholders and project owners to discuss remediation options and to support risk-based corrective action process for privacy gaps per identified priorities.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of privacy experience or an advanced degree.
- Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments or Third-Party Risk Reviews and guiding related remediation.
- Ability to navigate complex privacy issues and identify tangible solutions.
- Experience with cross-functional team communication and execution skills.
- Project management, interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with Privacy regulations, e.g., HIPAA, PIPEDA, EU GDPR, PIPL, Breach Notification laws, ISO and other standards bodies and international standards, and experience in advising businesses on such regulations and standards.
- CIPP, CIPT or similar certification, or sufficient demonstrated experience and/or formal education in Privacy and Compliance.
- The ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) complex issues and concepts to a wide range of audiences from technical developers and engineers to non-technical business partners and executives.
- Experience in working with design teams including software, mobile apps, IT development and other technologies.
- Experience in the healthcare industry might be an asset.
- Knowledge of Mandarin is preferred.
