The Global Privacy Manager will assist the Director of Privacy with the development, implementation, and ongoing strategy, management, and oversight of the global privacy program. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining programs and infrastructure crafted to ensure NeoGenomics meets statutory and regulatory requirements relating to HIPAA, GDPR, UK Data Protection Act (UK GDPR), Singapore's PDPC, and other global Privacy-related laws and regulations.

Summary:

The Global Privacy Manager will assist the Director of Privacy with the development, implementation, and ongoing strategy, management, and oversight of the global privacy program. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining programs and infrastructure crafted to ensure NeoGenomics meets statutory and regulatory requirements relating to HIPAA, GDPR, UK Data Protection Act (UK GDPR), Singapore's PDPC, and other global Privacy-related laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement programs and processes that further mature NeoGenomics' global privacy program, including data protection impact assessments, transfer impact assessments, and mechanisms for cross-border data transfers.
  • Partner with NeoGenomics Data Protection Officer to perform data protection impact assessments for new and existing products, services and business processes.
  • Assist with maintaining a data processing activity inventory.
  • Perform risk assessments regarding the compliance with applicable privacy regulations.
  • Assist with reviewing commercial agreements regarding data privacy contractual provisions (such as Data Processing Agreements).
  • Assist with researching, drafting, and reviewing privacy-related company policies and procedures.
  • Act as subject matter authority and primary resource for GDPR, UK(GDPR), PDPC, FDPA and other regulations.
  • Develop and deliver Privacy training and awareness programs.
  • Develop and conduct routine monitoring and auditing to assess the compliance with privacy requirements; partner with appropriate departments and individuals to resolve noted findings.
  • Investigate potential or actual breaches of personal identifiable information (PII) and lead all aspects of the implementation of corrective action plans and external reporting and interact with governmental agencies related to mandatory breach reporting and investigations.
  • Continually improve and update knowledge to accommodate changes to the organization's regulatory environment and needs.
  • Investigate and help resolve other Privacy questions, complaints, and incidents as needed; research root cause and document the entire investigation process according to policy/procedure and applicable regulations.
  • Cooperate with Regulatory agencies, legal entities, and organization officers in compliance reviews or investigations.
  • Works independently, exercises good judgment, lead diverse and conflicting priorities and projects in an effective manner.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff.

Experience & Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in a healthcare related field), Master's Degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant privacy or data protection compliance experience in a multi-national company (medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences).
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing privacy-related regulations such as, GDPR, UK(GDPR), FDPA, PDPC.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing privacy programs that comply with GDPR.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology concepts and controls as it relates to information security.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, projects, and timeframes, as well as adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to present complex issues and concepts to audiences of varying expertise in the subject matter (both orally and in writing).
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate interaction with representatives across the organization, including executives, department directors/managers, Legal Department, staff, and external organizations and agencies.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive or private matters while performing job duties and interacting with colleagues.
  • Ability to engage in team projects and fill various roles such as team member, facilitator, or leader as needed.
  • Familiarity with computer productivity programs necessary to complete work requirements (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
