Welcome, speakers!

Thank you for contributing to the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress 2019. To help ensure the success of your session, please see these important instructions:

Conference Venue: SQUARE – Brussels Meeting Centre, Glass Entrance, rue Mont des Arts, B-1000 Brussels. Tel: +32 02.515.1300.

Hotel/Accommodations: We’ve partnered with the Brussels Booking Desk to offer you reduced hotel rates for your trip. You can book through their convenient reservation website, by emailing their booking agent or by calling 0032.2.552.00.08. Reduced rates have now expired.

Speaker Registration: You will automatically be awarded a complimentary pass to the event and registered as a speaker by IAPP Staff. Conference pass is eligible for Tuesday’s Welcome Reception on 19 November and all programming and events happening on Wednesday and Thursday, 20-21 November. If you’re speaking on a workshop, your pass will also include the full-day of programming on Tuesday. If you would like to add a training, workshop or exam to your registration (additional cost), please contact speaker coordinator Ashleigh Austin at

Dietary Accommodations: Should you require a special diet please contact speaker coordinator Ashleigh Austin at to indicate your needs before 1 November.

Due now: Send us your headshot and a brief biography, if we do not already have this on file.

2 October, 16:00h CEST: Attend speaker orientation web conference. You will receive an invitation with additional details from me.

11 October: Deadline for initial planning call with co-panellists and chairperson.

16 October: Send draft presentations to your chair/speaker coordinator.

15 November: Send final presentation to your chair/speaker coordinator.


Additional Programming Information

Need to make a change to speakers, panellists or presentation content? It’s important to run it by us. Changes must be approved by IAPP to uphold the quality of our programme and keep our publications current. Please contact Ashleigh Austin immediately if you need to adjust.

A member from press associations affiliated with the IAPP event may report on presenters’ sessions, and may even record sessions, and will be entitled to interview presenters. The IAPP may also record presenters’ images and voices for possible use in IAPP materials. Recordings may be edited, copied, exhibited, published or distributed. (Special exceptions may be made for speakers whose employers prohibit such recordings but only upon approval of the IAPP.)
