The IAPP prioritizes the safety and well-being of event attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, staff and the community around us. We will continue to monitor and communicate COVID-19 developments.

IAPP ANZ Summit 2022 Health and Safety Protocols

By attending IAPP ANZ Summit 2022, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree to abide by established protocols and guidelines communicated by the IAPP. The IAPP will require all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and IAPP staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Upon event check-in, registrants may be asked to provide proof of vaccination.

Accepted COVID-19 vaccine documentation includes:

  • COVID-19 digital certificate.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or WHO Yellow Card) which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date doses administered); OR
  • A photo of your vaccination card as a separate document; OR
  • A photo of your vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device; OR
  • Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider; OR
  • Documentation of vaccination from other contracted employers who follow these vaccination records guidelines and standards.

If you cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, the IAPP will require proof of a negative COVID-19 test or Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19 at IAPP check-in.

Negative COVID-19 Test documentation must include:

  • Test result.
  • Type of test (nucleic acid amplification test [NAAT], which includes polymerase chain reaction [PCR], and antigen tests).
  • Entity issuing the result (e.g., laboratory, healthcare entity, or telehealth service).
  • Specimen collection date. A negative test result must show the specimen was collected within 72 hours of entering the conference venue.
  • Accompanying proof of identification in the form of a driver’s license or passport that visibly identifies the person on the test result.

Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19 must include:

  • A positive viral test result on a sample taken during the past 90 days.
  • A signed and dated letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official that clears you to travel.
  • The letter must be on official letterhead that contains the name, address, and phone number of the healthcare provider or public health official who signed the letter.
  • The letter must include information that identifies you personally (e.g., name and date of birth). This information must match an accompanying proof of identification in the form of a driver's license or passport.

Please note: the IAPP will not be collecting any of this documentation, just verifying.

Health and Safety Protocol FAQs

Are masks required at IAPP ANZ Summit 2022?
No, masking is at the discretion of the individual. The IAPP will have masks available onsite.

Do I have to be fully vaccinated to attend IAPP ANZ Summit 2022?
Yes, unless you cannot receive the vaccine due to a medical condition or religious beliefs. If you cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, the IAPP will require proof (paper or electronic copy) of a negative COVID-19 test at IAPP check-in or documentation of recovery. Please refer to the Negative COVID-19 Test documentation and Documentation of Recovery lists above for acceptable test forms and mandatory information.

How and when do I show proof of COVID-19 vaccination?
Attendees may be asked to provide proof of vaccination upon event check-in. Please refer to the accepted COVID-19 documentation listed above.

I cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or because of a sincerely held religious belief. Can I still attend IAPP ANZ Summit 2022?
Yes. If you cannot be vaccinated due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief, the IAPP will require proof (paper or electronic copy) of a negative COVID-19 test or Documentation of Recovery at IAPP Check-in. Please refer to the Health and Safety Protocols above for more information on acceptable tests and documentation.

What does fully vaccinated mean?
A fully vaccinated person is one who has received all recommended doses of vaccines recognised by the Australian Government, Department of Health, Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) 14 days or more prior to entering the conference venue.

If I am fully vaccinated, do I also need to provide a negative COVID-19 test?
No, the IAPP will not require a negative COVID-19 test in addition to your proof of vaccination status.

Will onsite IAPP staff be COVID-19 vaccinated?
Yes, onsite IAPP staff will be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.

Do I need the booster shot to attend IAPP ANZ Summit 2022?
No, a COVID-19 booster shot is not required to attend IAPP ANZ Summit 2022.

Will I be able to take a COVID-19 test on-site?
No, the IAPP will not have a testing facility onsite at the hotel. However, we will have a list of nearby testing locations should anyone be interested in a test.

What do I do if I begin to experience COVID-19 symptoms within 14 days of the event concluding?

What to expect from IAPP ANZ Summit 2022?

  • A clean venue, in accordance with The Fullerton Hotel Sydney standards.
  • Respect for personal space.
  • Widespread availability of hand sanitizer.
  • All areas within the hotel are cleaned and sanitised with hospital-grade disinfectant.

General Information

Registration processing: All registrations will be processed by Aventri. Because we are contracted with an external vendor, you will not be able to see your balance or payment amount when you log in to your MyIAPP portal.

Assistance and accommodations: If you need any special accommodations (i.e. you are blind/visually impaired or require a wheelchair), please contact us in advance to arrange for assistance at Asia Privacy Forum.

Method of payment: You can make your payment by wire transfer, Mastercard, Visa or American Express. Please contact us for wire transfer information.

Registration policy: Registration fees represent the cost of a single pass per person. Sorry, no sharing passes.

Cancellation policy: Registration fees are not refundable but are transferable to a person in the same company, pending IAPP approval. No refunds if you cancel or do not show up. Your completed registration form, online registration and email confirmation constitute binding agreement between two parties.

Conduct at IAPP Events: The IAPP is dedicated to making our meetings and events safe places for all. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind. We insist that all participants at IAPP events — whether delegates, staff, faculty, exhibitors or sponsors ― demonstrate respect and courtesy to all. This includes refraining from inappropriate language, comments and behaviour, in person or by electronic communications (such as social media).

Anyone who has experienced improper behaviour in violation of this policy is encouraged to report it immediately to IAPP event staff. IAPP staff members are trained to elevate such issues immediately. Alternate methods of reporting issues include emailing IAPP President & CEO J. The IAPP reserves the right to rescind registration or attendance at any IAPP event at any time for violations of this policy.

Tax deductibility: Training expenses, including your registration fee, travel, lodging and meals, may be tax deductible if they are for maintaining or improving your professional skills. Consult your tax advisor. IAPP Federal Tax ID 23-3048008.

Dress code: We are an informal bunch. Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but you can not go wrong with business casual. Speaking of comfort, bear in mind that you will be doing a lot of walking during the Summit. You should plan to wear comfy shoes for most of the week. It would also be wise to dress in layers so that you will be comfortable in heavily air-conditioned session rooms.

Photography/video: Please be aware that the IAPP will be taking photographs and video in public areas of the conference (session rooms, exhibit hall, etc.). We may use such media in marketing materials, educational products and publications. Your image and the sound of your voice may be recorded. If you are identified during the recording, or identify yourself by name, that information may be included in our materials. Recordings may be edited, copied, exhibited, published or distributed.

Continuing Education

Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE)

We do not apply for MCLE credits for our international events, but you can use the Certificate of Attendance that will be emailed to you after the event to self-report to your state of licensure.

IAPP Continuing Privacy Education (CPE)

If you are looking for continuing privacy education (CPE) credits, this conference qualifies.

Available Credits at the Forum: 10 CPEs

To Get Credit:
You don’t need to do anything. Credits will automatically be applied to each designation you hold (if you hold multiple designations, credits will be applied to all). If your credits don’t appear on your CPE Summary within 30 days after the event, please contact us.

IAPP certification exams and networking activities do not count for CPEs.
