Children’s Right Expert

Johan Kruip is a children's rights advocate at UNICEF Netherlands, where he specializes in promoting and protecting children's rights, with a particular focus on the digital environment. UNICEF Netherlands works closely with the government to ensure that the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child are effectively embedded within Dutch legislation and regulatory frameworks, extending protections for children into the digital realm. In addition to his digital advocacy role, Johan leads research projects that explore critical areas impacting children, such as climate change, youth welfare, poverty, and the needs of refugee children. Johan's background includes a tenure at the Netherlands Youth Institute, where he gained extensive experience in child development and welfare issues. He holds a master’s degree in social science.
