About the IAPP

Marielle is a Manager in the Government Advisory Directorate at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, leading the national security portfolio. As a Manager at the OPC, she helps federal government institutions through advice and the review of Privacy Impact Assessments. Her current focus is helping institutions reconcile national security needs with the importance of privacy rights and safeguarding personal information.

Marielle has wide range of experience in policy and Parliamentary procedure, having worked at the House of Commons, the New Zealand public service, and in the Canadian public service at both the provincial and federal level. Passionate about democratic institutions, Marielle is dedicated to building trust through privacy.
