About the IAPP

Bas van Bockel is Head of Department of International, Policy and Strategy at the Dutch DPA (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). He is also a senior lecturer of EU law at Utrecht University and honorary judge at the district court of Amsterdam. Amongst other things he was formerly Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy), lecturer at Leiden University, and Visiting Professor of EU at Universita Ca' Foscari (Venice, Italy) and Saarland University (Germany).
