Avishai Ostrin, CIPP/E
Avishai is a dual-qualified (England and Wales and Israel) privacy lawyer. Avishai initially trained as a corporate and commercial lawyer at one of Israel’s top tier law firms. There he advised on complex high-tech mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, as well as corporate finance transactions. One of his clients was Israel’s largest private equity firm. This experience gives him invaluable insights into the inner workings of some of the largest brand names in the world.Upon joining Asserson, Avishai requalified in the UK, and used the knowledge and experience he amassed to establish and build the firm’s privacy and data protection practice. Within a short period of time Avishai has emerged as one of Israel’s top specialists on European data protection and privacy laws and regulations. Avishai currently advises some of Israel’s and the UK’s top tech players on all areas of data protection and privacy – planning, building and executing privacy programmes, conducting internal audits, and reporting to boards of directors on various matters relating to data and privacy. He is a retained adviser on data and privacy matters for one of the UK’s largest consulting firms, and many companies draw on his unparalleled expertise to navigate the complex web of data protection regulation in the UK, and across Europe and the world more generally.Avishai holds a CIPP/E qualification and currently serves as the IAPP’s Young Privacy Professional Leader for the organisation’s Tel Aviv chapter.
