About the IAPP

Yulia is an attorney-at-law with over ten years of professional experience in South East Asia. She is a graduate of the Moscow State Law University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where she completed a Masters’ degree with an emphasis on data privacy.

Yulia is Director of Compliance and Data Protection at Minor International, one of the largest hospitalities, restaurant, and lifestyle companies in the Asia Pacific Region. Yulia joined Minor International in 2017 as a Legal Manager and spearheaded the privacy awareness campaign that led to the establishment of the global privacy program. Passionate about privacy, she believes that data privacy should be viewed as a business enabler that fosters trust and enables the business's growth. Yulia works closely with business units and functions to design privacy into Minor International’s services, products, and business operations.

In her current role, she has been focused on integrating the privacy program into the broader corporate governance program to ensure on-going compliance with the GDPR, Thai PDPA, and other laws and regulations around the world.

Prior to joining Minor Hotels, Yulia worked for international law firms in Thailand and the Philippines and served as an in-house counsel for a prominent regional design and architecture firm.

She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and is regularly invited to speak at conferences on data privacy.
